10 reasons to stay longer

The list below is our own choice of things to see and do but there are may others things of interest in the area:

1 Walk up Ben Nevis or enjoy a day in the Glen Nevis area for short walks to waterfalls
2 Take a walk along the canal embankment at Neptune's Staircase on the Caledonian Canal at Banavie
3 Hire some bikes and choose from lots of interesting forestry trails in the area
4 Consider a boat trip on Loch Linnhe to see all kinds of marine and wildlife
5 Drive out to Glenfinnan and discover the history of the Jacobites - you can also take a boat cruise on Loch Shiel. You could then travel out to Mallaig and see the Ocean
6 Listen to the local Pipe Band or wind band playing in the High Street during the summer evenings
7 Discover the secret of Whisky-making at the Ben Nevis Distillery
8 Visit our mountain centre at Nevis Range and take a ride on the Gondola to the mountain restaurant
9 A day trip to Loch Ness, Inverness, Monarch of the Glen country and back to Fort William
10 Relax, do nothing,

There are of course many interesting day trips by car around the West Highlands. It's perfectly possible to visit the Isle of Skye for the day during the summer months, and Loch Ness is only an hour away. There are boat trips, natural history cruises and many visitor centres to visit in the area too. How much time do you have?
